About The Position

Topps Security is recruiting Armed Security Guards to protect clients and assigned property from criminal activity and trespassing. The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent observational skills, and two years of previous surveillance experience, preferably in a military or law-enforcement environment. The candidate should be able to remain calm in high-pressure situations while demonstrating patience and close attention to detail.

Topps Private Investigation & Security Firm, LLC reports more than 30 years of combined law-enforcement experience and over ten years of private investigation and security experience. The firm specializes in a diverse range of security and investigation services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Active federal, state, and local firearm permits.
• Current or prior military and/or security experience.
• All state and local licenses, permits, registrations, or certifications required to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities.
• Two years of previous surveillance experience; military or law-enforcement experience is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent observational skills.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations, with patience and close attention to detail.

• Surveillance experience in a military or law-enforcement environment.

Responsibilities

• Screen personnel, packages, and vehicles for prohibited or unlawful items using manual, automated, or integrated screening techniques.
• Prevent, discover, delay, and/or detain persons attempting to bring prohibited or unlawful items onto the property or to personnel at the protected facility.
• Report incidents in accordance with established procedures detailed in the Post Orders.
• Answer questions and provide directions to visitors and facility tenants.
• Regularly patrol assigned grounds or buildings.
• Respond to alerts of suspicious activity.
