About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an Armed Security Flex Officer for a utilities headquarters. The officer will safeguard clients and may serve at sites across industries. Flex officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts according to their availability and may be called upon to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. The position requires flexible availability, including weekends, an active Texas Level 3 Commission Security license, and a valid driver’s license. The listed pay rate is $18.74.

Requirements

• Active Level 3 Commission Security license for Texas.
• Valid driver’s license; required if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must be at least 21 years old for this armed position.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• No prior experience required.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
