About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, professional Armed Flex Security Officer to support safety and security operations within upscale country club communities in Boca Raton. The role involves access control, foot and vehicle patrols, surveillance, use of gatehouse technology, securing people and equipment, completing detailed reports, responding to emergencies, and preventing criminal activity while providing courteous, high-level customer service to residents and guests. The officer may be called upon to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice to cover call-offs, vacation leaves, or requests for additional coverage. Scheduling is based on business needs, so hours and shifts may vary. Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts and days throughout the week is requested.

The position includes both indoor and outdoor assignments, with exposure to varied and potentially extreme weather conditions. Officers must be capable of remaining alert during extended periods of observation, working stationary and mobile posts, conducting patrols over varied surfaces, and responding quickly to emergencies. The listed pay rate is $20.00 to $21.00 per hour. Benefits are specified for full-time employees.

Requirements

• Possess valid Florida Class D and G security licenses.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be 21 years of age or older.
• Pass a background screening and drug test.
• Pass a mental health assessment.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Have clear verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to exchange information, provide instructions, and draft reports.
• Have active listening skills.
• Be able to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.

• Be able to work a variety of shifts and days, with flexible availability and potentially irregular shifts on little or no advance notice.
• Be able to perform extended standing, walking, and sitting; patrol on pavement, grass, and uneven terrain; and move between posts for an 8-hour shift or as operationally required.
• Be capable of working indoors and outdoors in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain, for extended periods.
• Be able to react quickly in emergencies, potentially including running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
• Have visual acuity to monitor CCTV and observe surroundings, and auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate by two-way radio or telephone.
• Be able to reach frequently and occasionally squat, kneel, or stoop to inspect vehicles or property.
• Be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Maintain mental alertness and attention to detail during long periods of observation.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
• Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
• Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
• Experience with Avigilon camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols, indoors and outdoors, to identify unusual conditions, security concerns, and safety hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain site awareness.
• Sound alarms or contact police or fire departments immediately in cases of fire, medical emergencies, or unauthorized persons.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
• Verify guest and vendor credentials, permit authorized persons to enter, and monitor entrances and exits.
• Warn violators of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
• Act as a visual deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Successfully complete all training required for the position.
