About The Position

KRE Security, LLC. is hiring an experienced Act 235 Certified Armed Security Officer for a full-time school assignment in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, serving students with Emotional Support needs for the 2026–2027 school year. The role combines professional armed security with patient, respectful, and appropriate interactions with school-age children. Candidates should be comfortable working around children, able to build appropriate professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries, and able to remain calm during challenging interactions.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM–2:30 PM, at $23.00 per hour. This is a full-time school-year position, with overtime paid after 40 hours. Potential summer employment may be available. A client interview and approval are required.

Requirements

• Current Pennsylvania Act 235 certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Check.
• PA Child Abuse Clearance.
• FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
• Ability to complete applicable school security training, clearances, and client requirements, including PPD testing.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and conduct routine foot patrols.
• Professional communication skills and dependable attendance.
• Meaningful experience working with or regularly interacting with school-age children; examples may include employment in a K–12 school or educational setting, childcare, youth programs, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, or family or community activities.
• Patience, good judgment, emotional awareness, and the ability to build appropriate professional relationships with students while maintaining clear boundaries.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with students who have emotional or behavioral support needs.
• Military veteran or retired law enforcement officer may qualify for an additional $0.25 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional armed security presence.
• Monitor school entrances, hallways, and designated areas.
• Conduct routine patrols and remain alert to safety concerns.
• Interact with students in a calm, respectful, and professional manner.
• Recognize when students may need assistance and communicate concerns to appropriate school personnel.
• Follow school procedures and respond to incidents within the scope of training and authority.
• Communicate with school administrators and staff.
• Complete required reports and documentation.
