About The Position

Bonneville Phoenix internships are semester-long opportunities for college students to gain a fuller understanding of the broadcast industry and expand their skill sets. This internship is in our Sports Programming and Digital departments. Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion. This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Phoenix site.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be currently registered as a college/university student, eligible to receive internship credit through their educational institution.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Learn all aspects of digital's contribution in the newsroom.
  • Gain experience in writing and publishing quality sports news stories from press releases, interviews, raw audio, aggregation and social media.
  • Learn about the strategy and planning needed to maintain a sports news website.
  • Observe and interact with sports talk show producers and hosts.
  • Learn how to pull audio and how to edit and use that audio for a show.
  • Learn how to produce and edit sports interviews.
  • Learn how a talk show comes together from planning to execution.
