About The Position

Motorola Solutions is seeking an Area Sales Manager for the Mobile Video team, which includes WatchGuard Video and Vigilant Solutions. This role is responsible for leading a sales team within a designated region, focusing on strategic account planning and managing relationships with existing and new customers. The Mobile Video team provides in-car video systems, body-worn cameras, License Plate Recognition (LPR), Facial Recognition, and Parking solutions primarily for the law enforcement market. The company emphasizes a people-first culture and a commitment to building technologies that help keep people safer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of sales/public safety experience OR 8+ years of sales/public safety experience.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Help drive product decisions and support decisions to support our customers existing and future needs.
  • Develop Motorola procurement vehicles for multiple solutions to be leveraged across an entire "target" account.
  • Attract into the organization and develop a diverse pool of future leaders.
  • A track record of making or exceeding assigned sales goals.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Reside in Illinois (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Leading a sales team within a designated region.
  • Strategic account planning and overall relationship management for existing and new customers.
  • Aligning the Mobile Video sales team with Motorola Solutions' territory teams and key work partners for enhanced sales and execution.
  • Establishing a collaborative, energetic, and exciting working environment as the leader of the region.
  • Holding the sales team accountable for achieving/exceeding the Committed View (CV) forecast.
  • Utilizing strong leadership and communication skills to cast a clear vision and execute strategy.
  • Providing an environment where changes in market focus, product performance, and customer requirements are communicated and acted upon.
  • Establishing an environment of ownership while understanding business goals for the territory and individual contributors.
  • Setting go-to-market strategies with direct and indirect selling resources.
  • Generating a long-term, multiple-year sales pipeline and accounts to pursue.
  • Creating, strengthening, and managing reseller and Motorola manufacturer representative organizations.
  • Developing strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within the existing customer base.
  • Supporting the sales team in negotiating large contracts.
  • Resolving complex customer service and satisfaction issues.
