About The Position

The Area Operations Supervisor leads operations in the Finishing and Shipping Department, helping process and ship quality paper at a competitive cost. This role is integral to the success of the department and Somerset Mill and is a key member of the management team. It offers an opportunity to develop as a leader in operations and logistics.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree, or 10 years of experience in a logistics, Finishing and Shipping, or manufacturing-related field, and 3 or more years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Experience with MICS.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives to help ensure an accident-free and safe workplace.
• Lead efforts to achieve converting, roll handling, and loading productivity goals at low cost, meet quality and transportation requirements and regulations, and continuously improve operational performance.
• Manage day-to-day operations and lead the shift crew using effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and administrative skills to meet site objectives.
• Work with maintenance personnel to ensure equipment uptime, reliability, and asset life in the area of responsibility.
• Work with the Supply Chain team to achieve warehouse inventory and shipping goals.
• Meet or exceed departmental safety and other objectives, as well as targeted production, loading, quality, and cost goals.
• Manage a diverse, highly skilled workforce in a team-oriented, self-directed environment to meet organizational business needs.
• Develop working relationships with employees across operations, maintenance, and supply chain.
