About The Position

Community Concierge Services (CCS) is seeking a hands-on Area Operations Manager to lead people, ensure service quality, and manage client relationships within an assigned district. This role involves evening field leadership, daytime recruiting, administrative tasks, and client communication. CCS provides doorstep waste and recycling collection for apartment communities nationwide, serving over 175,000 apartment homes nightly with a team of over 700 employees. This is an opportunity for growth within a founder-led company, offering broader responsibility across multiple communities.

Requirements

  • Experience supervising hourly or part-time employees.
  • Experience handling scheduling, attendance issues, employee coaching, and customer concerns.
  • Comfortable using mobile apps and basic computer systems for reporting, scheduling, and payroll.
  • Ability to meet the travel, schedule, and physical requirements of the position.
  • Evening and weekend availability is essential.
  • Full-time commitment required.

  • Previous valet trash experience.
  • Experience in related industries such as commercial cleaning or janitorial operations, security operations, parking or valet services, hotels or housekeeping, restaurants or quick-service operations, staffing or branch operations, or apartment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train part-time trash collection employees.
  • Set clear expectations for attendance, safety, service quality, and communication.
  • Coach employees, recognize strong performance, and address issues promptly.
  • Build backup coverage plans and keep staffing needs ahead of service demand.
  • Confirm staffing and respond quickly to call-offs, no-shows, and service interruptions.
  • Visit communities, conduct employee and service audits, and follow through on corrections.
  • Help employees troubleshoot onsite issues and personally assist with collection when needed.
  • Ensure employees have the safety equipment, supplies, and app access needed to do their jobs.
  • Communicate professionally with property managers and follow through on concerns.
  • Maintain accurate payroll, service reports, and employee documentation.
  • Use company systems to track service, review documentation, and identify recurring problems.
  • Coordinate new community launches, including staffing, equipment distribution, and resident information.
  • Arrange coverage when employees call off or fail to arrive, personally covering the route if necessary.
  • Travel between properties and markets to support employees, inspect service, and resolve issues.
