About The Position

As part of Ford's Manufacturing team, you will help build world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles. This position is on the plant leadership team and is responsible for leading change efforts within the plant to meet global manufacturing standards. You will support employees by removing barriers to their success and developing their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, some post-secondary (college or skilled trades)
  • Broad production experience including Team Manager experience
  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel and plant management
  • Validated ability to present in front of senior management
  • Ability to teach Ford Production System principles
  • Competent in the use of data for decision making
  • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to resolve diverse problems
  • Work well under pressure and be able to work under crisis management when necessary
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
  • Candidates for positions with Ford Motor Company must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or technical field
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
  • Six Sigma knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience in final assembly
  • Computer Experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TWOS, NGAVS, QLS, ECATS)
  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability

Responsibilities

  • Lead transformation and change management efforts
  • Implement Ford Production System (FPS) operating systems and processes to global manufacturing standards
  • Ensure standards are in place, deliver results, and maintain internal stability by focusing on inputs and process confirmation
  • Remove internal barriers by securing resources and aligning objectives and systems
  • Lead manufacturing areas for vehicle manufacturing — Trim, Chassis & Final Assembly, Testing
  • Lead greenfield plant facility installation, commissioning, organizational development, hiring, and workforce training
  • Lead vehicle launch pre-build events, meeting quality and delivery requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement, providing teams with resources and support for problem resolution
  • Coach, teach, and provide feedback on problem resolution and continuous improvement
  • Develop organizational capability through coaching and development of "Leaders as Teachers" at all levels, ensuring employees receive the training, coaching, and experience needed to raise performance and advance the organization
  • Develop and provide feedback for salaried staff personal development
  • Develop and implement effective area communication and recognition processes
  • Build a robust, sustainable relationship with the workforce engagement committee in support of the company's core values
  • Create a zero-tolerance environment that reinforces mutual respect among team members
  • Foster a proactive, performance-driven culture through effective communication, education, listening, and trust
  • Proactively recognize team accomplishments to build morale
  • Ensure basic administrative activities are completed as required
