About The Position

Reach Logistics, a Pattern company, is a global eCommerce logistics and strategy company that distributes products for major brands through marketplaces including Amazon, Walmart, and eBay. It operates warehouses in five countries and ships 60 million units annually, with more than 1,700 employees across 18 locations. The Area Manager leads supervisors and warehouse staff on a Monday-through-Thursday night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., overseeing operational performance, safety, quality, staffing, and employee development.

Requirements

3–5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a distribution center or warehouse.
At least 1 year of operations experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Familiarity with Warehouse Management Software for tracking and resolving order problems.
Effective communication with associates, management, and executive staff.
Experience creating and executing a shift plan.
Understanding of basic math and Excel formulas.
Understanding of the importance of process control to the business.
Ability to embrace change and be flexible.
Problem-solving ability.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Google Suite, including Gmail.
Ability to follow procedures, exercise sound judgment, and apply a fair and consistent management style.
Comfort working and communicating with a diverse employee demographic.
Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.
Ability to walk or stand for 8–10 hours.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds by hand.
Ability to pull, push, bend, kneel, and crouch.
Overtime required during peak season, approximately 25–30% of the time.

Pallet jack experience, electric or non-electric.

Responsibilities

Lead 1–2 supervisors and up to 100 warehouse staff on the assigned shift to meet productivity, quality, safety, and on-time shipping targets.
Partner with the Operations Manager and support teams to meet business goals.
Engage with the team during the shift to promote a positive culture and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and performance.
Support operations in collaboration with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Operations Manager.
Shift-plan and share labor according to daily goals and order volumes.
Facilitate communication between shifts to promote teamwork and shared goals.
Direct supervisors and leads within the department and across shifts, ensuring policy and procedure updates are communicated.
Track attendance and approve associate timecards.
Coach, train, and retrain associates on labeling and packaging procedures.
Resolve employee relations matters and conflicts, working with HR on sustainable solutions.
Monitor productivity and recommend actions to meet or exceed metrics.
Administer progressive discipline for behavioral or productivity issues.
Help team members understand and connect with the company’s vision, mission, strategy, and business priorities.
Promote and model safety guidelines to ensure team-member safety.
Manage leads and ensure they work closely with team members through training, coaching, and order problem-solving, as applicable.
Uphold company policies and professional workplace behavior by leading by example.
Solve problems in real time using counting and basic math.
Use Warehouse Management Software to track and resolve order problems.
Work cooperatively with managers, supervisors, coordinators, and leads.
Work a flexible schedule and come in outside normal hours when needed to cover management staff.
