About The Position
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for providing maintenance support for the PS&D Business Unit. The successful candidate will provide leadership to foster an injury-free environment, eliminate repetitive maintenance problems, improve maintenance efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and improve equipment reliability. The position reports to the Mill Maintenance & Engineering Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum three years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading troubleshooting and maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Detailed knowledge of industrial safety procedures and regulations.
- Knowledge and experience in maintenance best practices.
- Ability to track and measure performance using standard methods and tools.
- Ability to lead in a high-performance team environment and get work done through others.
- Ability to collaborate with peers and work well with others.
- Record of accomplishment in continuous improvement.
- Strong computer skills, including SAP and all Microsoft Office applications.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the pulp and paper industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Be a role model and champion for an injury-free workplace and promote safety and excellence in all areas of influence.
- Directly manage and develop one salaried Front-Line Leader.
- Manage the PS&D department maintenance organization to maximize effectiveness and minimize cost.
- Work closely with operations leadership to understand its needs and maintain a positive, unified relationship between operations and maintenance.
- Provide leadership in proactive maintenance practices and process reliability improvements.
- Lead area outage planning and ensure plans are executed safely.
- Manage maintenance and repair contractors.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage the area maintenance budget.
- Manage the checkbook for PS&D department expenses.
- Champion Reliability and MWS work systems for the Business Unit.
- Drive sustained continuous improvement throughout the scope of responsibility.
