The Area Manager - Maintenance is responsible for managing the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring department performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment such as material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building repairs. This role also ensures compliance with state and federal regulations including OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT related to maintenance operations. The position involves implementing the business plan for the area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. The Area Manager will monitor and manage productivity through business reports, maintain quality and safety standards by training associates and monitoring compliance, and identify and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns. Additionally, this role focuses on supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching policies, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation processes. The role also emphasizes building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, creating a culture of belonging, attracting and retaining talent, empowering associates, and recognizing contributions.
