About The Position

This position manages the maintenance department's daily operations, ensuring department performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment such as material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building repairs. The role also involves monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT, relating to maintenance operations. The Area Manager is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. They will monitor and manage the productivity of their area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports, and maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing procedures. The role involves identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. Financial aspects assigned to the area of responsibility will be managed, including monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures against budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing business reports. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Technical School Certification in an Industrial related field and 1 year related maintenance department supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Industrial, or related field OR 1 year supervisory experience in a maintenance related environment supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees OR 2 year Walmart Logistics maintenance experience including six months experience leading a work or project team (e.g., risk control) OR 2 years supervisory experience in an industrial related environment; supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees with 1 year experience in the maintenance field.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities
