This role is responsible for managing the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment such as material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building repairs. The position also ensures compliance with state and federal regulations including OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT related to maintenance operations. The Area Manager implements the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. They monitor and manage productivity through business reports, maintain quality and safety standards by training associates and monitoring compliance, and identify and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns. Additionally, this role involves supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. The role also emphasizes building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, creating a culture of belonging, and empowering associates to thrive. It involves attracting and retaining talent, recognizing contributions, and acting with integrity, ethics, and compliance, modeling Walmart values, and supporting the company's goal of becoming a regenerative company.
