This position manages the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring department performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment. This includes material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building repairs. The role also involves monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations such as OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT related to maintenance operations. The Area Manager communicates with individuals or groups verbally and in writing, implements the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. They monitor and manage productivity by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports, and maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing supporting documentation. The role involves identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching policies, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation. The Area Manager also manages financial aspects as assigned, monitoring expenses and capital expenditures against budget, and monitoring asset utilization. They are expected to build high-performing teams, embrace differences, create a workplace of belonging, and empower associates to thrive. The role requires working collaboratively, building strong relationships, and communicating with impact to motivate and influence.
