The Facilities Maintenance Area Manager is responsible for communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in areas such as production, quality, and safety. This role involves monitoring and managing the productivity of the area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. The manager must maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing procedures. They will identify and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns. A key part of the role is supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. The manager also oversees the maintenance department's daily operations, ensuring performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment (e.g., material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, general building repairs) and compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT). Financial aspects, including monitoring expenses and capital expenditures against budget, and asset utilization, are also managed.
