The Facilities Maintenance Area Manager is responsible for communicating with individuals and groups verbally and in writing, implementing business plans for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals. They will monitor and manage the productivity of their area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. This role also involves maintaining quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, distributing procedures, and identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns. The manager will supervise and develop associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching policies, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation. The role manages the daily operations of the maintenance department, monitoring and ensuring performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment (material handling, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, general building repairs) and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations (OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT). Financial aspects include monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures against budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing/analyzing business reports.
