This position implements the business plan for the area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. The role involves monitoring and managing the productivity of the area, maintaining quality and safety standards, and identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns. A key aspect is supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. The manager also oversees the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment (material handling, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, refrigeration, general building repairs) and compliance with state and federal regulations (OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT). Financial management, including monitoring expenses and capital expenditures against budget, and asset utilization, is also part of the role.
