This position manages the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring department performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment such as material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building repairs. The role also involves monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT, related to maintenance operations. The Area Manager is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. They will monitor and manage productivity through business reports, maintain quality and safety standards by training associates and monitoring compliance, and identify and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns. Additionally, this role involves supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching policies, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation processes. The position also manages assigned financial aspects by monitoring expenses and capital expenditures against budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing business reports.
