This position manages the maintenance department's daily operations, focusing on maintaining warehouse equipment such as material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building repairs. The role also ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, including OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT, related to maintenance operations. Additionally, the position is responsible for managing financial aspects, including monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures against budget, and monitoring asset utilization. The Area Manager is expected to implement the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. This includes monitoring and managing the productivity of the area, maintaining quality and safety standards, identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervising and developing associates and leaders.
