About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the daily operations of the energy center maintenance department. This includes diagnosing problems, developing repair alternatives, and taking action to repair electrical systems, electronics, and other areas of the facility related to refrigeration system assets. The position also involves monitoring and ensuring department performance related to maintaining refrigeration equipment, such as electronic controls, system electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building equipment repairs associated with the refrigeration system. Compliance with state and federal regulations (OSHA, PSM, EPA, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT) related to energy center maintenance operations is crucial. The role also manages financial aspects, monitors expenses and capital expenditures against budget, tracks asset utilization, and prepares/analyzes refrigeration reports. Driving quality and safety standards includes ensuring equipment, tools, and supplies are in proper working order and investigating asset-related incidents.

Requirements

  • 1 year Walmart Energy Center Refrigeration Technician experience OR 1 year industrial warehouse refrigeration systems experience OR 1 year refrigeration/HVAC maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Obtain Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) and Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) certifications within 30 months of job entry date and maintain them while employed in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates).
  • Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing refrigeration reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies/standards/procedures, monitoring associate compliance to policies and procedures, distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify associate, customer, and supplier concerns by listening, consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action to take, and making recommendations in order to resolve concerns.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.

  • Monitor and ensure department performance related to maintaining refrigeration equipment (e.g., electronic controls, system electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, general building equipment repairs associated with the refrigeration system).
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, PSM, EPA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT) relating to energy center maintenance operations.
  • Manage financial aspects as assigned and/or in area of responsibility by monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures compared to budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing, reviewing, and analyzing refrigeration reports.
  • Drive quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring equipment, tools, and supplies used by associates are in proper working order and readily available at the start of each work shift and investigating asset-related incidents (e.g., damage, physical accidents, theft).
