This position manages the maintenance department's daily operations, focusing on maintaining warehouse equipment such as material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building repairs. The role also ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, including OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT, related to maintenance operations. The Area Manager is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. They will monitor and manage the productivity of their area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. Additionally, this role involves identifying associate, customer, and supplier concerns, listening, and consulting with others to determine and implement corrective actions. A key aspect is supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching policies, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation processes. The position also manages assigned financial aspects, including monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures against budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing business reports.
