About The Position

The Area Leader is responsible for coordinating training for their lead group, assigning work, and ensuring employees understand how to perform their tasks. This role involves checking for special materials and parts according to shop procedures before starting orders. The Area Leader must maintain acceptable house cleaning standards in their area of responsibility, monitor scrap and rework levels, and ensure employees exhibit acceptable work habits and product quality. They will also assist the supervisor in writing detailed tie-ins for the oncoming shift as necessary, ensure proper use and care of company tools and equipment, and inspect product quality. This position requires daily open communication with the supervisor and reporting of any problems to the supervisor. Responsibilities

Coordinate proper training for all employees in their lead group.
Instruct employees on how the work is to be performed.
Assign work to employees in their lead group.
Check for special material and/or parts per shop procedure before starting orders.
Ensure acceptable house cleaning is maintained in their area of responsibility.
Monitor the amount of scrap and rework that occurs.
Ensure employees in their lead group maintain acceptable work habits and product quality.
Assist the supervisor in writing a detailed tie-in for the oncoming shift, as necessary.
Ensure that Company tools and equipment are properly used and cared for and that they are maintained properly.
Inspect the quality of product.
Maintain daily open communication with supervisor.
Report problems to Supervisor.
