Area Food and Beverage Manager
About The Position
The Area Food & Beverage Manager leads all food and beverage operations for Hyatt Place and Hyatt House in San Jose, California. The role oversees the restaurant, cocktail lounge, banquet functions, and room service, with responsibility for exceptional service, operational excellence, and financial performance. The manager leads team recruitment, training, development, and performance, and is expected to provide hands-on leadership, strong hospitality expertise, and a focus on guest service. The position also works to drive revenue, control costs, and create memorable dining experiences for guests and event attendees.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all Front-of-House and Back-of-House food and beverage operations to ensure exceptional service, quality, and efficiency.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally to support high customer satisfaction.
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily staffing schedules and shift operations.
- Evaluate team performance, provide coaching and feedback, and foster employee development and engagement.
- Manage operational expenses, monitor food and labor costs, and implement strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports, including revenue, expenses, and key performance metrics.
