Area Food and Beverage Manager
About The Position
The Area Food and Beverage Manager leads food and beverage operations for Hyatt Place and Hyatt House in San Jose, California. The role oversees the hotels’ restaurant, cocktail lounge, banquet functions, and room service, with responsibility for service quality, operational excellence, and financial performance. The manager also oversees recruitment, training, development, and performance of the food and beverage team. The position calls for a hands-on hospitality leader focused on guest service, revenue growth, cost control, and memorable dining experiences for guests and event attendees.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Front-of-House and Back-of-House food and beverage operations to ensure exceptional service, quality, and efficiency.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally to support high customer satisfaction.
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily staffing schedules and shift operations.
- Evaluate team performance, provide coaching and feedback, and foster employee development and engagement.
- Manage operational expenses, monitor food and labor costs, and implement strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports covering revenue, expenses, and key performance metrics.
- Oversee restaurant, cocktail lounge, banquet, and room service operations at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House San Jose.
