Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in architectural design, drafting, and project coordination
  • Strong working knowledge of NYC Zoning Resolution and NYC Construction Codes
  • Proven experience producing and reviewing plans, sections, and technical drawings in AutoCAD
  • Technical expertise with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • NYS Registered Architect License is preferred
  • Experience working on public sector education, infrastructure projects is preferred
  • Experience with feasibility studies, test fits, and early-stage planning preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead test fits and feasibility studies for new construction, expansions, and vertical additions, incorporating architectural and structural considerations
  • Analyze and interpret NYC Zoning Resolution, NYC Construction Codes, and land use regulations to assess development potential
  • Conduct site visits and field observations, prepare detailed reports and recommendations
  • Present findings and design studies to internal stakeholder committees and leadership teams
  • Provide architectural expertise to support Real Estate, Legal, and Capital Planning teams during negotiations with developers
  • Participate in pre-design and coordination meetings for mixed-use and public-sector projects
  • Perform design and scope reviews for Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and capacity-related projects at all design phases
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, contractors, vendors, and government agencies
  • Assist in the development of design standards, guidelines, and internal procedures
  • Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
