About The Position

The Part-Time Archery & Firearm Technician follows customer instructions while maintaining safety requirements and provides bow setup, tuning, repair, and stringing services. The technician explains repairs and recommends ongoing maintenance, keeps the workspace and surrounding areas orderly, attends required sales and product knowledge training, answers customer questions about merchandise, stocks merchandise, contacts vendors about repair part orders, and assists with customer trade-ins. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, three months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, three months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push or pull, lift, talk, and hear, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
Ability to exert 50–80 pounds of pulling force regularly.

Responsibilities

Carefully follow customers’ specific requests while maintaining safety requirements.
Set up bows with accessories, tune bows, repair bows, and string bows.
Communicate the repair process and offer suggestions for ongoing maintenance.
Maintain an orderly and immaculate personal workspace, archery bench, back stock space, and surrounding areas.
Attend sales and product knowledge training meetings when required.
Answer questions concerning merchandise location, price, and use.
Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
Contact vendors to order repair parts and follow up on repair part orders.
Assist with customer trade-ins.
Follow safety procedures and perform duties in a way that minimizes the risk of injury.
