About The Position

The Aquatics Manager & Swim Team Coach provides leadership and oversight for the club’s aquatics department while serving as a coach and mentor within the competitive swim program. This position is responsible for creating a safe, positive, professional, and growth-oriented aquatic environment for members, swimmers, families, instructors, and staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, communication, and customer service skills, along with a proven record of success in coaching competitive swimmers and developing aquatic staff. This individual will help lead the day-to-day operations of the aquatics department, develop and implement effective aquatic programming and procedures, and support the growth and development of competitive swimmers and coaching staff. A successful candidate will be passionate about developing young athletes, building a positive team culture, mentoring staff, and embracing compassion, accountability, and continuous growth to achieve excellence both in and out of the pool.

Requirements

  • Proven coaching experience at the Age Group and/or Senior level.
  • Strong knowledge of competitive swimming, stroke technique, training principles, and athlete development.
  • Current USA Swimming certifications in good standing, as applicable to the position.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with swimmers, parents, members, guests, and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on administrative responsibilities.
  • Self-reflective, accountable, adaptable, and committed to personal and professional growth.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for competitive swimming, aquatics, youth development, and staff mentorship.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in and around a pool environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, swimmers, parents, and staff through reading, writing, speaking, and active listening.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary to respond appropriately during an aquatic emergency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mentoring, developing, and/or supervising coaches or aquatic instructors preferred.
