Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with a major in a biological science, natural science, environmental science, or natural resource management, including or supplemented by six college credits in freshwater aquatic biology, aquatic ecology, aquatic botany, water pollution biology, entomology, limnology, or closely related aquatic science coursework
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six college credits in freshwater aquatic biology, aquatic ecology, aquatic botany, water pollution biology, entomology, limnology, or closely related aquatic science coursework
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license
  • Must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to telework part-time, up to 3 days per week (requires securely configured high-speed internet and approved location in Pennsylvania)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating site characteristics and aquatic conditions for permit applications
  • Conduct investigations and surveys to document habitat, species, and environmental compliance
  • Gather supporting materials to validate findings and strengthen permitting decisions
  • Work with local, state, and federal partners on environmental reviews and planning needs
  • Investigate potential violations and provide recommendations for corrective actions
  • Support education efforts, meetings, and information sharing with communities and stakeholders
