About The Position

This aquatic leadership work assists in directing the provision of aquatic instructional and recreational programs in our indoor and outdoor pools. The Aquatic Leader 1 supervises, checks and participates in the work of Lifeguard/Instructor Aquatics engaged in instructional, lifeguarding, minor maintenance and custodial tasks. Participates in the planning, organization and promotion of aquatic programs; evaluates and recommends changes to a variety of instructional, competitive, and recreational aquatic programs for all ages. Performs other related work as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by courses in lifesaving, lifeguarding, aquatic instruction and pool operation and maintenance.
  • Standard First Aid.
  • Sound related supervisory experience.
  • A Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia.
  • Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor.
  • Lifesaving Society Instructor/Examiner.
  • Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard – Pool.
  • Standard First Aid.

Nice To Haves

  • B.C.R.P.A. Aquatic Fitness Leader certification.

Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $34.25 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
