About The Position

Aquatic Control Inc. is a privately owned lake and pond management company seeking to add an Aquatic Biologist to their Valparaiso, Indiana office. This role involves significant field work, primarily from March through October, and requires a hardworking individual who can work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors and around water.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in fisheries/aquatic science, agriculture, or a natural resources-related field
• Insurable Driving Record
• Pass Pre-Employment Drug Screening & DOT Physical
• Comfortable Driving Truck & Boat Trailer Combination
• Basic mechanical ability
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment (physical labor required)
• Ability to work an average of 50-60 hours per week
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Nice To Haves

• Experience in outboard motor operation is a plus

Responsibilities

• Application of EPA registered aquatic herbicides and algaecides
• Installation and maintenance of aerators, fountains, and compressed air systems
• Aquatic plant surveys
• Writing vegetation management plans
• Performing fish surveys
• Attending industry related training events and conferences
• Heavy field work from March through October
• General maintenance of trucks, boats, equipment, and grounds
• Speaking at pond clinics, trade shows, and public meetings
