The ARNP completes assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implements treatment plan, and evaluates patient status. It is a direct patient care role requiring basic through advanced clinical knowledge and skills, i.e., a greater depth and breadth of knowledge, the ability to synthesize data, and a hallmark increased autonomy in nursing practice. The ARNP assumes responsibility and accountability for health promotion and/or maintenance including the use and prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. All duties and responsibilities are essential functions and requirements and are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. This is a position of trust. This position requires good oral and written communication skills and the ability to concentrate and be highly precise. Information must be exchanged using tact and persuasion appropriately. The person in this position must be able to communicate with the patient’s, staff, and others; and contribute to a positive environment. The ability to communicate in Spanish, Creole, or both is a plus.
