The Refrigeration Apprentice supports experienced Journeyman Technicians and field leaders in installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration and HVAC/R systems. This entry-level apprenticeship combines supervised field experience with required classroom and safety instruction. Responsibilities and technical complexity increase as the Apprentice demonstrates safe work habits, reliability, trade knowledge, and achievement of program milestones in new construction, renovation, and service environments. Climate Pros is preparing for anticipated growth across Florida in 2027 and is building a pipeline of qualified candidates. Future roles are expected to involve statewide travel approximately four days per week. Applying does not guarantee employment or mean that a specific position is currently available. Compensation, wages, hours, progression, and advancement are subject to experience, qualifications, applicable apprenticeship standards, and collective bargaining agreements. The Apprentice works under the supervision and direction of experienced Journeymen and field leadership, and participates in required classroom instruction, safety training, hands-on development, evaluations, and skill assessments. More complex assignments are introduced as competencies and apprenticeship milestones are achieved. Work may take place indoors and outdoors in active construction and retail environments with varying temperatures, noise, dust, equipment, and jobsite hazards. Schedules may include early starts, nights, weekends, overtime, or off-hour work depending on project needs and applicable agreements.
