Apprentice
About The Position
As an Apprentice, you will learn to perform creative repairs to a variety of surfaces, with most repairs taking less than an hour. The role offers a direct four-week track to Surface Repair Technician. Surface Experts repairs minor damage to surfaces including floors, countertops, bathtubs, cabinets, appliances, furniture, and elevator panels. The company emphasizes positive customer experiences and lasting relationships, while saving customers time, money, and materials that might otherwise go to a landfill. Compensation is $20 to $23 per hour, including base pay and performance-based bonuses. A monthly bonus program depends on add-on repairs. The schedule excludes weekends, late nights, and evenings, though overtime is available. The company also provides paid holidays and paid time off, weekly team meetings with breakfast, and a team lunch to celebrate the first day.
Requirements
- Experience working with your hands, such as in construction, manufacturing, painting, or a personal hobby.
- Ability to identify, compare, and recreate colors, including color matching.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to tenants and property management staff.
- Track work progress and notes in the dispatch tool.
- Communicate with the support team when questions arise.
- Learn and use the company's five-step repair process.
- Use the tools in the custom tool kit.
- Creatively problem-solve surface repairs.
