About The Position

Immediate Opportunities: Full-time Apprentice Class A CDL Truck Drivers. Earn $24.75 per hour to start and an increase within the first year. This role involves no touch freight and drop and hook deliveries, with local routes allowing drivers to be home daily. Drivers will operate late model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks, which are best-in-class and designed for comfort and safety, equipped with inward and outward facing in-cab cameras. Drivers will deliver freight to assigned locations, perform drop and hook operations, and provide high-level customer service during deliveries. The schedule is a 5-day work week with two consecutive days off, typically Monday through Friday, with an occasional Saturday approximately once per month. Penske offers on-the-job training to hone existing skills as a Class A licensed driver, building a career while receiving competitive pay and benefits. Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a Penske approved CDL School (CDL 160, Ivy Tech, Truck Drivers Institute, New England Tractor Trailer Training School), or a current or former member of the US Armed Forces
  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • English language proficiency required (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
  • Ability to work the required schedule, at the specific location required
  • Complete Penske employment application
  • Submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history)
  • Submit to drug screening
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner as this position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive
  • Ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others
