Truck Driver - CDL Class A - Penske Logistics
About The Position
Penske Logistics is hiring full-time local Class A CDL truck drivers to make multi-stop deliveries to stores of a major coffee chain. Drivers complete approximately 65 to 70 deliveries per week, handling high-volume loading and unloading of coffee and milk products from a refrigerated trailer with a hand dolly and lift gate. They scan items as they are unloaded and delivered and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with customers. Delivery helpers are available on the majority of routes. Drivers operate late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks with dual-zone refrigerated trailers and automatic transmissions. Vehicles have inward- and outward-facing in-cab cameras. The position is home daily and requires scheduling flexibility because dispatch times vary. The schedule is four to five days per week, including weekends, with consecutive days off during the week. Weekend incentive pay is available.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
- Currently hold, or be able to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
- At least 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years.
- Three years of DMV/MVR record with no more than two moving violations or accidents.
- English language proficiency as required by federal law.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Ability to work the required schedule and at the specified location, complete the Penske employment application, and submit to a background investigation and drug screening.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Ability to see and hear, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to move frequently, stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter and exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
