About The Position

The Automotive Apprentice Technician does service and repairs on light duty trucks and automobiles. Technicians will perform routine inspections and tests on vehicles. Automotive Apprentice Technicians are expected to maintain cleanliness of all customer vehicles during and after the completion of inspections and repairs. In addition, he or she may be assigned to do pre-delivery inspections and service on new vehicles to ensure they are in working order for the customers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience with automotive mechanical and electrical systems
An unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record
Able to operate both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
Excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
Highly professional and dependable
Safety and customer oriented

Nice To Haves

Post- Secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Diagnose issues and inspect light duty trucks and automobiles
Perform routine service inspections and tests on vehicles
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles
Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean, and free of debris during and after completion of service/inspections
Ensure that all required documentation is completed and in compliance with regulations and standards set by the company
Maintain the appearance and safety standards of the shop
Perform duties such as inventory stocking, and other general duties
Follow all shop policies, trainings, procedures, and safety rules
Attend all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes that are needed
Must complete factory training
Performs any other duties as they are assigned
