About The Position
General Parts is hiring an Apprentice Field Service Technician to repair and maintain commercial kitchen equipment at schools, healthcare facilities, and restaurants throughout the assigned area. The role involves troubleshooting and servicing commercial cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment, as well as gas, electric, and steam systems. Onsite training, ongoing training, and career advancement opportunities are provided. The technician is dispatched from home in a company vehicle and participates in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets the company’s safety standards.
- Completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of related experience, education, or military training is preferred.
- EPA certification for refrigeration technicians.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment.
- Provide service solutions for gas, electric, and steam systems.
- Order and install replacement parts.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations.
