About The Position

In Charge Electric is hiring an Apprentice Electrician for its Custom Homes department. The role provides on-the-job, hands-on training in the foundations of electrical repairs, installations, and maintenance. The apprentice will learn to wire new homes and assist with service calls, including interacting with homeowners. The position offers opportunities to build a career in the electrical field.

Requirements

• Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving history.
• Meet company and insurance requirements to operate company vehicles.
• Current TDLR Apprentice Electrician License.
• Possess and maintain required tools.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment criminal, driving, and drug screening.
• Ability to provide work authorization documents upon hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure electrical work is installed according to plans and code.
• Ask questions to determine the severity of electrical problems.
• Select tools and materials based on the repair work required.
• Confer with customers to determine their electrical repair needs.
• Read and interpret blueprints and cabinet details to ensure electrical components are located correctly.
• Follow architectural drawings to determine wiring system installation.
• Replace faulty wires and parts and ensure replacements work properly.
• Install electrical system components, including lighting, switches, circuits, panels, and outlets.
• Inspect electrical systems periodically to identify hazards or defects.
