About The Position
Apprentice - Repair Artist role at Surface Experts focuses on utilizing artistic skills to perform creative repairs on various surfaces. The job involves completing 4 or more on-site repairs daily, often within an hour, requiring excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities. Technicians work in diverse settings such as apartments, hotels, and construction sites. The role emphasizes a unique 5-step repair process, mastery of tools, and creative solutions for each repair. Ideal candidates have a background in visual arts like painting, sculpting, drawing, or similar mediums, with a strong ability to match colors and patterns. Experience in facilities maintenance is a plus but not required. Surface Experts specializes in fixing minor damages to surfaces like bathtubs, cabinets, floors, appliances, countertops, furniture, and elevator panels, offering an alternative to replacement or refinishing. The company aims to save customers time and money while reducing landfill waste.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience doing some form of manual work – From construction and manufacturing, to painting or sculpting.
- Must be able to see, distinguish, and replicate colors – A familiarity with color and color matching is integral to our process.
Nice To Haves
- A background in facilities maintenance is helpful but not a deal breaker.
- Technicians with backgrounds in painting, sculpting, whittling, drawing, and other visual arts of various mediums can excel at Surface Experts.
- Your talent with color is vital in matching colors and patterns for complex repairs.
Responsibilities
- Complete 4 or more creative repairs on-site each day.
- Perform work on-location while displaying good customer service and communication.
- Update progress on repairs by entering information and notes on our CRM/Dispatch tool.
- Learn and integrate our one-of-a-kind 5-step process into your creative routine.
- Master each instrument and tool in your personalized tool-kit.
