About The Position
Rogall + Co. is hiring an Apprentice Painter for work based in Morro Bay, California, serving San Luis Obispo County and the Central Coast. The company has protected coastal homes through paint and wood restoration since 2004. No painting experience is required; the apprentice will learn from experienced craftspeople through paid, hands-on training and develop skills toward advancing to Painter. The work involves preparing surfaces and helping apply primers, paints, and protective coatings to homes. It includes early starts, full days outdoors in sun, wind, and coastal fog, extensive repetitive preparation, and working from extension ladders around paint, primer, and dust. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, during daytime jobsite hours.
Requirements
- No painting experience is necessary.
- Strong work ethic.
- Reliable, punctual, and coachable.
- Comfortable with physical outdoor work and working on a ladder.
- Able to lift and carry more than 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Available for daytime jobsite hours, Monday through Friday.
- Two references the company can contact, such as a past employer, teacher, coach, or mentor.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by sanding, scraping, masking, caulking, and cleaning.
- Help apply primers, paints, and protective coatings to homes.
- Set up and break down jobsites safely and keep them clean.
- Learn the company's process for protecting Central Coast homes from sun, salt, and weather.
- Support the crew and develop skills toward becoming a Painter.
