Apprentice Painter – Paid Training + Career Path ($20–24/hr)
About The Position
Rogall + Co. is hiring Apprentice Painters to work in Morro Bay and serve San Luis Obispo County and California’s Central Coast. No painting experience is required; the company provides paid, hands-on training from experienced craftspeople and a path to advance to Painter. Rogall + Co. has protected coastal homes through paint and wood restoration since 2004. The role involves physically demanding outdoor work, including preparing surfaces, assisting with paint and coating application, and maintaining safe, clean jobsites. Work takes place in sun, wind, and coastal fog, and includes early starts, full days, repetitive preparation tasks, and working from extension ladders.
Requirements
- No painting experience is required.
- Strong work ethic; dependable, punctual, and coachable.
- Comfortable with physical outdoor work and working on a ladder.
- Able to lift and carry more than 50 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Available for daytime jobsite hours Monday through Friday.
- Provide two references the company can contact.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by sanding, scraping, masking, and cleaning.
- Help apply primers, paints, and protective coatings to homes.
- Set up and break down jobsites safely and keep them clean.
- Learn the company’s process for protecting Central Coast homes from sun, salt, and weather.
- Support the crew and develop skills toward becoming a full Painter.
