About The Position

Hanson International is seeking candidates for its 2026 class of apprentices. The company works in cooperation with Lake Michigan College and the Hanson Technology Center to offer a long-standing apprenticeship program. Apprentices will learn alongside journeymen to machine, fit, assemble, and troubleshoot the components that make up molds. The program begins with learning the fundamentals of machining and craftsmanship, and aims to prepare apprentices to excel in the world of advanced manufacturing at Hanson International.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with completion of algebra required.

Responsibilities

  • Study detailed prints & proceed with detailed work according to print requirements.
  • Disassemble & clean molds which may require alterations, repairs or restorations.
  • Set up and operate various machine tools to perform necessary machining processes.
  • Maintain tolerances as required by the prints or customer in the machining process.
  • Fit mold components together to assure tolerances are met to assure mold will function.
  • Manage time and complete work assignments within the quoted job time frame.
  • Perform preventative maintenance items as listed on assigned tools and machinery.
  • Complete formal trade related college classroom instruction.
  • Miscellaneous duties as may be assigned.
