About The Position

This position is designed as a one-year apprenticeship. The Apprentice Endoscopy Technician is responsible for assisting physicians and nurses in performing endoscopy procedures. This role also involves maintaining clean and bacteria-free endoscopes and endoscopy suites according to established policies and procedures. The technician supports patient care needs by performing delegated patient care and non-patient care tasks, and upholds patient safety and other safety practices. Additionally, the position supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles in interactions with patients, families, and co-workers. Upon successful completion of one year of service and satisfactory performance, the team member will advance to the Level I Endoscopy Technician position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider card required
• SGNA associates modules completed within 1 year required
• Good written and verbal skills required.
• Ability to read, write and follow directions required.

Nice To Haves

• An understanding of disinfecting procedures and clean versus sterile preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology as it relates to gastroenterology preferred.

Responsibilities
