Endoscopy Technician
About The Position
Gulf Comprehensive Surgery Center is an advanced-technology Endoscopy Suite specializing in examinations of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. Procedures are performed in a comfortable outpatient setting designed with high-quality care, safety, patient privacy, and convenience in mind. The GI technician/Endoscopy Technician works under the direct supervision of a surgeon and assists with the operation of technical equipment during simple and complex endoscopic procedures. Working as part of a team with the physician and registered nurse in the procedure room, the technician helps provide optimal conditions for positive patient outcomes. The role also includes cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and other instruments; facilitating patient flow and room turnover; stocking procedure rooms; ordering supplies; and performing various clerical duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist with operating technical equipment during simple and complex endoscopic procedures.
- Work with the physician and registered nurse in the procedure room to support positive patient outcomes.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopes and other instrumentation.
- Facilitate patient flow and room turnover.
- Stock procedure rooms.
- Order supplies.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties.
