About The Position

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to provide accurate and efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Work is to be completed safely and effectively, within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with company and industry standards. The role involves customer service, diagnostics, repairs, inspections, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The position may require flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, and work in both interior and exterior conditions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Graduate of an acceptable trade school or manufacturer’s technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
Willingness to expand professional knowledge through education and training programs.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
Ability to meet the physical task requirements, with or without accommodation.
Investment in own tools.
Works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service in a team environment focused on exceeding customer expectations.
Perform diagnostic testing and interpret the results.
Develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
Complete repairs safely, effectively, and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Recommend other TA services to customers as part of the inspection review process.
Maintain the safety of customers and employees.
