About The Position

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to provide accurate and efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Work must be completed responsibly, within company and industry standards, and in a reasonable timeframe. The role involves working with the service team to develop and communicate repair plans, completing repairs safely and efficiently, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The technician also recommends other TA services during the inspection review process and helps maintain the safety of customers and employees.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Graduate of an acceptable trade school or manufacturer’s technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
Willingness to expand professional knowledge through education and training programs.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
Meet the requirements for the necessary physical tasks, with or without accommodation.
Invest in own tools.
Work well with others and be excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

Provide great customer service in a collaborative, trusting environment and exceed customer expectations.
Perform diagnostic testing and interpret the results.
Develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
Complete repairs safely, effectively, and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Recommend other TA services to customers as part of the inspection review process.
Maintain the safety of customers and employees.
