About The Position

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to provide accurate and efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a reasonable and responsible manner, while meeting company and industry standards. The role involves diagnostic testing, interpreting results, developing repair plans, communicating with Service Advisors, and safely completing repairs. Team members work in a service-focused environment and help maintain a clean and safe workplace.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Graduate of an acceptable trade school or manufacturer’s technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
Willingness to expand professional knowledge through education and training programs.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Ability to work in interior and exterior conditions.
Meet the requirements for the physical tasks, with or without accommodation.
Investment in own tools.
Works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
Perform diagnostic testing and interpret the results.
Develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
Complete repairs safely, effectively, and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Recommend other TA services to customers as part of the inspection review process.
Help maintain the safety of customers and employees.
Provide great service and work to exceed customer expectations.
