About The Position

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to provide accurate and efficient service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in accordance with company and industry standards. The role involves conducting diagnostic tests, communicating repair plans, completing repairs safely and effectively, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and recommending other TA services during customer inspections. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Graduate of an acceptable trade school or manufacturer's technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
Willingness to expand professional knowledge through education and training programs.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
Ability to meet the physical task requirements, with or without accommodation.
Investment in own tools.

Responsibilities

Provide service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results.
Develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
Complete repairs safely, effectively, and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Recommend other TA services to customers as part of the inspection review process.
Help maintain the safety of customers and employees.
