About The Position

The Applied Data & Technology Intern will support the Business Data Analytics Team within Continuous Improvement at Daimler Truck North America. The team works across the organization on data analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence initiatives, partnering with business units to enable data-driven decisions, improve processes, and build scalable solutions. This internship focuses on developing and enhancing artificial intelligence and knowledge systems that make organizational information more accessible and actionable, including through generative artificial intelligence. The role also provides exposure to commercial truck development operations and contributes to continuous improvement, data literacy, and innovation.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program or higher at an accredited college or university, or graduated within one year of the position start date in May or June.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
• Experience programming in Python, including using data analysis libraries and building scripts or applications.
• Hands-on experience developing artificial intelligence or machine learning solutions, such as predictive models, natural language processing applications, or generative artificial intelligence tools.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and databases; Snowflake or similar technologies are preferred.
• Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Basic understanding of data structures, data management, and data engineering concepts.
• Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States at the time of application; visa sponsorship and applications from existing visa holders are not accepted.
• Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check and may be required to complete a pre-employment drug screen.

• Experience with the Snowflake data platform or similar cloud-based data technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support development of artificial intelligence-powered knowledge and automation solutions that help employees search, access, and interact with organizational data, documentation, and best practices.
• Help build and enhance generative artificial intelligence applications that summarize information, answer user questions, and automate internal Continuous Improvement processes.
• Collaborate with business partners to understand information needs and operational workflows, translating them into structured data solutions using Snowflake.
• Contribute to documentation, training materials, and adoption efforts so artificial intelligence, analytics, and automation solutions are sustainable, user-friendly, and effectively adopted.
• Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture.
